Norwegian Minister of International Development, Asmund Akerost, held Israel responsible for the dire humanitarian situation facing the population of the Gaza Strip, accusing it of kidnapping and hiding Palestinians in the West Bank.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, he added that Gaza is currently facing a very difficult situation due to Israel’s continued blocking of aid, food, water, and electricity, despite its obligation to facilitate these deliveries.

He stressed the importance of continuing to deliver aid to the population of the Gaza Strip despite the fragility of the ceasefire agreement, emphasizing that this responsibility lies primarily with Israel.

The Norwegian minister emphasized the need to raise the world’s voice to deliver aid to Palestinians living under occupation, especially under the new US administration.

He called for joint European pressure to give hope to those living in hell due to the occupation, whether in Gaza, the West Bank, or occupied Jerusalem.
