The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that 85 people were killed and 133 injured since dawn on Thursday in Israeli shelling of the Gaza Strip.
The ministry said in a Facebook post: “Statistics of martyrs since dawn today:
85 martyrs and 133 injured have arrived in Gaza Strip hospitals as a result of the multiple attacks and massacres committed by the occupation since dawn today in the Gaza Strip. A number of victims are still under the rubble, and efforts are underway to retrieve them.”
At dawn on Tuesday, Israel resumed its military operations against the Gaza Strip, ending a fragile truce that had lasted for about two months. The truce began last January with Egyptian, Qatari, and American mediation. Israel carried out a series of intensive airstrikes and artillery shelling on several areas in the Strip.
The Israeli army announced on Wednesday that its forces had launched a specific and precise ground operation in the central and southern Gaza Strip.
