Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
After more than a week of intensive American airstrikes on Yemen, the Hebrew newspaper “Jerusalem Post” admitted the failure of the military campaign to weaken the capabilities of the Yemeni armed forces, affirming that what it called the “Houthis” have not retreated from their operations despite the ongoing airstrikes.
Washington Unable to Deter Sana’a:
The newspaper pointed out that the air strikes can’t decide the battle against the “Houthis,” as they have previously faced Israeli, Saudi, and other international air attacks, and yet “they have withstood the storm,” which proves that air strikes alone are not an effective strategy against them.
The newspaper wondered about the ability of the aircraft carrier “USS Harry S. Truman” and dozens of American fighter jets to achieve actual deterrence, noting that “it is not clear” whether the deployment of this offensive force has had any impact on the Houthis’ capabilities or their decision to continue targeting Israeli and Western ships.
Pressure on Washington’s Allies in the Gulf:
Referring to the repercussions of the escalation, the newspaper wondered whether the US is conducting its air operations against Yemen from its bases in the Emirates and Qatar, but it suggested that these countries “may not want to face Houthi retaliation,” which reflects the growing concern of Washington’s regional allies, especially with the failure of American air defenses to secure the Red Sea and the Gulf.
The One-Missile Strategy… Huge Psychological Impact:
The newspaper addressed the tactics of the Yemeni armed forces in using only one ballistic missile in each attack against “Israel,” explaining that this single missile achieves the same effect that dozens of missiles might achieve by triggering air raid sirens across the occupied territories and forcing millions into shelters.
Sophisticated Military Capabilities Difficult to Target:
The newspaper affirmed that “the Houthis’ ballistic missile launch platforms are difficult to track down,” noting that Sana’a has “advanced means of hiding missiles,” making targeting them a great challenge for American and Israeli intelligence.
A New Equation in the Region:
The newspaper concluded its report by indicating that the “Houthis'” announcement of the continuation of their operations as long as the Israeli aggression on Gaza continues means that the new equation imposed by Sana’a is still in place, which places Washington and Tel Aviv in an unprecedented military and political dilemma.
