The Israeli army demolishes several buildings in Tulkarm

Israeli occupation forces continue their military aggression against the city of Tulkarm and its camps – Tulkarm Camp and ‘Nur Shams’ Camp – in the northern West Bank, for the 155th consecutive day, in one of the longest continuous military operations in the West Bank, which is accompanied by a widespread escalation in demolitions and mistreatment of the population. Local sources reported that occupation forces set up a military checkpoint this morning at  ‘Pharaoh’ roundabout south of Tulkarm, and began searching vehicles and checking the identities and phones of Palestinian citizens, where two young men were arrested during the searches.

A military bulldozer began new demolition work in the “Club” neighborhood of Tulkarm camp, amidst a tightened siege on both camps and a heavy presence of military vehicles and infantry in the alleys and entrances, with residents being prevented from reaching their homes and live ammunition being fired at anyone who approaches the area. The occupation forces also set fire to a house in “Al-Manshiya” neighborhood inside “Noor Shams” camp, after a week in which the camp witnessed extensive demolition operations of dozens of buildings and housing units, while the number of buildings demolished in Tulkarm camp over the past two weeks exceeded 50 buildings.
