Palestinian Prisoners’ Affairs Authority: More than 10,000 Palestinians are being held by the occupation

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Affairs Commission announced that the number of prisoners and detainees held by the occupation authorities had reached more than 10,800 by the beginning of this month. This figure does not include detainees held in Israeli military camps.

The Commission explained that among the detainees are 48 female prisoners and more than 440 children, while the number of administrative detainees has reached more than 3,600, held by the occupation authorities without charge or trial.

It also reported that among the prisoners are 2,454 detainees from Gaza, whom the Israeli Prison Service classifies as “illegal combatants.”
