Martyrdom of Al Jazeera Correspondents Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qureiqa and two of his colleagues in the occupation shelling of journalists’ tent at Al-Shifa Hospital

Gaza – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Al Jazeera correspondents in the Gaza Strip, Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qureiqa, were martyred this evening, Sunday, as a result of direct Israeli shelling that targeted the journalists’ tent set up in front of Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, in a new crime added to the occupation’s record of targeting media personnel.

According to field correspondents and news networks, the occupation forces shelled the tent that housed several journalists covering the events from inside the hospital, leading to the immediate martyrdom of five journalists, including Al Jazeera correspondents Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qureiqa.

The two correspondents were among those documenting the Israeli crimes against civilians in Gaza, and Anas Al-Sharif had previously lost his father in a shelling that targeted the family home in Jabalia Camp and had received direct threats from the occupation due to his continuous coverage of the aggression.

The martyrdom of Al-Sharif and Qureiqa raises the number of journalists who have died during the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza to over 100, amid increasing international condemnations of the occupation’s violations against media and freedom of expression.
