Israel offers tribute to the Houthis

On Sunday, the Israeli occupation offered to pay tribute to those it describes as “Houthis” in Yemen, this comes amid anticipation of a new phase of escalating maritime operations supporting Gaza.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The famous Egyptian media figure Moataz Matar showcased a video clip of an interview conducted by the director of Eilat port, Gideon Golber, with the “Globes” newspaper, during which he offered to pay money in exchange for allowing ships to cross Bab Al-Mandeb, similar to the Suez Canal.

The Israeli official indicated that the port is completely closed and that he is willing to offer anything in return for the resumption of navigation to Israeli ports.

The Egyptian journalist described Golber’s statements as an offer to “tribute.”

This new Israeli offer comes amid expectations of a new type of Yemeni operation targeting navigation to Israeli ports in both the Red and Mediterranean Seas.

Additionally, the timing reveals the extent of Israeli concerns regarding the anticipated Yemeni escalation, especially as Yemeni officials began to talk about ships regardless of their nationality.

Since November 2023, Yemen has been launching land and maritime operations against the Israeli occupation; it has succeeded in banning navigation to ports on the Red Sea and reducing it in ports on the Mediterranean, as well as at airports.
