The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip announced on Sunday that the death toll of journalists killed since October 7, 2023, has risen to 247, following the martyrdom of journalist Islam Abed in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza City.
The government office said in a statement: “The number of martyred journalists has risen to 247, since the beginning of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.”
It called for “pressure to stop the Israeli genocide and protect journalists in Gaza.”
Shortly before that, the Palestinian Al-Quds Channel announced the martyrdom of its correspondent, Islam Abed, in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza City.
