European official: Gaza faces humanitarian disaster; the solution lies in an immediate ceasefire

Gaza – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

European Council President Charles Michel said that what is happening in the Gaza Strip has reached the level of an unprecedented humanitarian disaster, noting that the number of civilian casualties, especially children, is “unbearable.”

Michel confirmed that “the right to self-defense does not justify the indiscriminate destruction of infrastructure or collective punishment,” calling for an immediate ceasefire and allowing humanitarian aid to enter without restrictions.

He also stressed the need to stop settlement and renew the commitment to a two-state solution.

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the toll of the Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023, has risen to 63,557 martyrs and 160,660 wounded, while the toll since March 18, 2025, to date alone has reached 11,426 martyrs and 48,619 wounded.
