The Government Media Office in Gaza announced on Wednesday that the number of Palestinian journalists killed since the beginning of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip has risen to 254, following the announcement of the deaths of journalists Sami Daoud and Yahya Mohammed Barzaq.
The Media Office explained in a statement received by the Palestinian Information Center that the martyred journalist Sami Daoud worked for Rawafed TV, while the martyred journalist Yahya Mohammed Barzaq worked for several other media outlets.
In its statement, the office condemned “in the strongest terms” what it described as the “systematic targeting, killing, and assassination” of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation forces, calling on the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and all journalistic organizations worldwide to condemn these “systematic crimes” against journalists and media professionals in the Gaza Strip.
It also held the Israeli occupation, along with the US administration and a number of countries it described as “participating in the crime of genocide,” such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, fully responsible for these “heinous and brutal crimes,” according to the statement.
