Gaza Civil Defense: 250 bodies recovered since the ceasefire

A Civil Defense spokesman in Gaza said that rescue crews have recovered more than 250 bodies since the war ceased, noting that some bodies were found in the streets and among the rubble.

The spokesman added, in statements to Al Jazeera, that Civil Defense crews are facing a significant shortage of heavy equipment needed to deal with the widespread destruction caused by the war, stressing that the humanitarian situation is extremely difficult.

He explained that more than 10,000 people remain under the rubble, amid a severe shortage of capabilities and technical means that would enable crews to reach them.

He pointed out that the remnants of war and explosive materials scattered throughout various areas of the Gaza Strip pose a significant threat to the lives of residents, calling for urgent intervention to secure the necessary equipment and open corridors for rescue teams.
