Withdrawal of American-British aircraft from Yemeni airspace

The US and Britain withdrew military aircraft from Yemeni airspace on Sunday.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Navigation tracking sites revealed the return of American-British spy aircraft from prolonged sorties over the airspace of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

Circulated images show an American “MQ-9” type aircraft taking off from Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, passing through Saudi airspace before entering the Red Sea and crossing over the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait to reach the Gulf of Aden, where a commercial ship continues to burn following an unknown attack.

The dispatch of the American aircraft coincided with the launch of a British spy aircraft from the same base, but on a route starting from the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean to the Gulf of Aden.

The British aircraft is of the type “RC-135W Rivet Joint.”

These aircraft had been flying continuously over the past 12 hours.

It is not yet clear whether the two countries fear a new Yemeni escalation in light of the assault bearing American-Israeli fingerprints, or if it is for reconnaissance purposes.

It is also unknown whether those aircraft had been targeted, forcing them to withdraw or not.
