Gaza Health Ministry: The last batch of bodies is the most difficult

The Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Munir al-Barsh, stated that the bodies of the thirty martyrs received on Friday were the most severely damaged among the released groups.

On Saturday, al-Barsh added that most of the bodies were just bones, and some were unrecognizable, their features having been melted away by torture and burial in the sand.

He emphasized that the occupation forces buried these bodies after torturing and executing their owners, and then later removed them to morgues for handover, which caused their features to disappear and most of them to completely melt away.

He noted that some of the bodies had clothing and shoes, but these were also illegible, though families might be able to identify them.

Al-Barsh pointed out that the bodies were badly mutilated due to gunfire, torture, and being run over by tanks.

He indicated that the same procedures followed previously would be applied to the new group of bodies, giving families the opportunity to view them.

He reported that the families of 75 martyrs out of 255 bodies released since the ceasefire in Gaza had been identified, while 120 unidentified martyrs had been buried.
