The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Wednesday the latest update to the statistics of the Israeli aggression that began on October 7, 2023.
The daily report revealed that the total number of martyrs has risen to 68,875, with 170,679 injuries. It confirmed that martyrs continue to arrive at hospitals even after the ceasefire began, as a result of ongoing efforts to recover bodies from under the rubble.
This update comes amidst the continuation of the ceasefire that began on October 11, 2023. Despite the cessation of military operations, the humanitarian crisis continues to unfold daily.
Civil defense and ambulance crews face an immense challenge in reaching hundreds of victims who remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed homes and in the streets, meaning the announced toll is likely to rise as search and rescue efforts continue.
According to the Ministry’s statement, the following developments occurred in the past 24 hours: Three martyrs and two injured arrived at hospitals in the Gaza Strip. The Ministry clarified that the three martyrs included one newly deceased and two bodies recovered from under the rubble. The ministry confirmed that “a number of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets,” and that specialized teams “are unable to reach them.”
