The Jabalia al-Nazla Municipality revealed that its maintenance and operational system is suffering from an 80% deficit due to the destruction caused by the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. This has led to a near-complete paralysis of the operation of water wells, sewage pumps, street lighting, and other vital facilities in the city.
In a statement, the municipality explained that the system urgently needs support projects to enable it to resume operations. These projects include providing mobile pumps, pumps for cleaning sewage drains, generators to power water wells with capacities ranging from 110 to 220 kilovolt-amperes, and generators to power submersible pumps with a capacity of 25 horsepower. The municipality also requires heavy machinery for cleaning wells and sewage treatment plants.
The statement added that the municipality also needs support for street lighting projects and the provision of electrical supplies to rehabilitate this vital sector, noting that the lighting system was completely destroyed by 100% due to the bombing and widespread destruction of the infrastructure in Jabalia.
