Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassal warned today of a worsening humanitarian crisis as winter approaches, stressing that the situation in the Gaza Strip is catastrophic and directly threatens the lives of its residents.
Bassal indicated that the humanitarian disaster in Gaza is far greater than what is being portrayed in the media, warning that the rain and bitter cold could lead to unmanageable catastrophes if international and humanitarian organizations do not intervene urgently.
The official called on all humanitarian and international organizations to immediately fulfill their responsibilities by providing shelter, clothing, blankets, and all necessary supplies to cope with the cold and rain, warning that inaction now will lead to a true catastrophe for the entire Gaza Strip.
