Three children injured in an explosion of remnants of the Israeli army in Gaza

Three Palestinian children were injured on Monday when two suspicious objects, believed to be remnants of Israeli military ordnance, exploded in different areas west and east of Gaza City, while civil defense crews recovered the remains of 14 Palestinians from under the rubble in the central Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian General Directorate of Police in Gaza stated that a child sustained moderate injuries when an object left behind by the Israeli occupation exploded in the northern Gaza Strip. The Directorate warned Palestinians against tampering with any unexploded ordnance or suspicious objects left behind by the occupation and urged them to report any such items if found.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Civil Defense reported that two children from the Abdel Aal family were injured in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City, when a suspicious object left behind by the Israeli occupation exploded.

Local sources had previously stated that the Israeli army left behind unexploded ordnance and booby-trapped objects disguised as toys or food containers in the areas from which it withdrew under the ceasefire agreement.

According to a previous statement from the Government Media Office, the Gaza Strip contains 20,000 unexploded shells and bombs left behind by the Israeli army in various areas, posing a threat to the lives of civilians.

Since the agreement came into effect on October 10, several injuries have occurred due to explosions caused by these remnants, which now threaten the lives of Palestinians.
