Amnesty International asserted on Thursday that Israel’s genocide in the Gaza Strip “has never stopped,” emphasizing that the international community must not be deceived by the superficial appearance of a ceasefire.
The organization explained that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip continue to endure living conditions “designed to physically destroy them,” amidst ongoing “brutal” occupation policies, including restrictions on the entry of essential aid and vital services.
According to Amnesty International, at least 374 Palestinians, including 136 children, have been killed since the ceasefire came into effect as a result of ongoing Israeli attacks on various parts of the Gaza Strip.
The organization reiterated that since the October 7, 2013 offensive, Israel has committed what it described as “genocide” with American and European support, including killing, starvation, widespread destruction, displacement, and arrests, despite repeated international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt these crimes.
She pointed out that the toll of the genocide exceeded 239,000 Palestinians, including martyrs and wounded, most of whom were children and women, in addition to more than 11,000 missing persons, and hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, as well as a famine that claimed the lives of many, especially children, while large parts of the cities and areas of the sector were completely wiped out.
