The Revolutionary Guard announces targeting an American F-35 fighter jet in Iranian airspace

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced today, Thursday, that it had targeted an American F-35 fighter jet in the airspace of central Iran.

Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The Guard said that the fate of the aircraft “is still under investigation,” with speculation leaning towards it having been shot down, indicating that the operation was carried out using advanced air defense systems.

For his part, the spokesman for the Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Ebrahim Zulfaqari, stated that the Iranian air defense systems managed to hit what he described as “the legend of American aircraft.”

The spokesman for the US Central Command, Tim Hawkins, said that the aircraft was carrying out a combat mission over Iran, noting that the incident is still under investigation.

This comes despite previous statements by US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, in which the spoke of “achieving a decisive victory” and destroying Iranian air defenses.
