Information continued to emerge from the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, hours after the fiercest confrontations the strait has witnessed, during which America used all its capabilities, including oil and cargo ships, in an attempt to open the strait.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The latest news is what the French company “CMA CGM” revealed about the evacuation of the crew of its ship “San Antonio” after it was hit in Hormuz, confirming that several crew members were injured, and the ship remains aground in the strait.
This ship is one of several oil and cargo ships targeted in recent hours in Hormuz as the US Navy attempted to open it by force.
South Korea and the UAE had confirmed that their ships in Hormuz were attacked and caught fire, while media reports spoke of a third British ship.
In this context, American media revealed that US forces used oil and cargo ships for military operations in Hormuz, quoting Pentagon officials confirming the deployment of military teams on board those ships during the attempt to open the strait.
The US had begun a new operation on Monday to open Hormuz, which has been closed since the end of February, under the banner of “Project Freedom.” America mobilized nearly 15,000 soldiers, about 100 aircraft, and warships for the operation, according to what was confirmed by the US Central Command. The operation lasted only 48 hours before Trump announced its suspension this morning.
Recent developments reveal that US forces failed to achieve the operation’s objectives, which were to extract nearly 800 ships stuck in Gulf ports, according to the US administration. It also confirms that they suffered devastating strikes, especially in light of American reports about two battleships being targeted in the strait.
