Iran officially reopened the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Revolutionary Guard Navy stated in a release that safe passage through the most important strait in the Gulf is now possible, referring to its opening to ships.
The statement expressed the Iranian forces’ apology to ships anchored in the Gulf for their understanding of the previous measures.
It also attributed the new decision to the disappearance of the “aggressors'” threat. The statement confirmed new procedures for crossing the strait but didn’t specify them.
The strait, closed since the end of last February, witnessed a new battle in the last 48 hours with the US launching an operation in an attempt to open it by force. US forces failed to achieve any success, while the chaos accompanying the operation led US President Donald Trump to suspend it.
The Revolutionary Guard’s decision to reopen the strait according to a new mechanism reflects an Iranian victory in the latest battle.
