Lebanon: 12 martyrs in Israeli raids on the south

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, that the death toll from Israeli airstrikes targeting areas south of Beirut had risen to 12.

The ministry explained that three airstrikes targeted the coastal highway between Sidon and the south, specifically in the areas of Barja, Jiyyeh, and Saadiyat, resulting in the deaths of eight people, including a mother and a child, according to Lebanese media.

An Israeli airstrike on the city of Sidon resulted in one death and one injury, while three other people were killed in airstrikes targeting vehicles in the towns of Maaliya, Shaitiya, and Naqoura in southern Lebanon.

The Ministry of Health confirmed that the victims were killed in seven separate Israeli airstrikes targeting vehicles in various locations.
