Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The former head of the Israeli Military Intelligence Directorate, “Tamir Heyman,” revealed in statements reported by Channel 12 Hebrew his reading of the strategic dimensions behind the recent Iranian response to the targeting of the southern suburb, considering it a turning point in the management of the conflict.
Heyman explained that this operation represented the “first leadership test” for the son of the Iranian Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, pointing out that the latter succeeded in fulfilling his pledges to strike the Israeli depth, which gave the regime in Tehran a card of “popular confidence” internally that it was seeking to solidify.
Regarding Iran’s long-term goals, Heyman affirmed that Tehran is not content with efforts to “avoid defeat” in the current war but is working to impose a new equation based on achieving tangible strategic gains that transcend the boundaries of traditional fronts.
He added that the Iranian vision aspires to consolidate its full sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, along with expanding the scope of Iranian deterrence to include the Lebanese arena as part of its growing regional influence.
