Martyrs and wounded in scattered Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon

Five Lebanese civilians were killed and several others wounded on Sunday in Israeli airstrikes targeting areas in Beirut’s southern suburbs and southern Lebanon, marking a new escalation despite the ceasefire agreement.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced the deaths of three civilians and injuries to others in two airstrikes targeting the Ghobeiri area in Beirut’s southern suburbs. One strike killed two civilians, while the other killed one and wounded four.

The ministry also reported the deaths of two civilians and injuries to three others in a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting several areas in southern Lebanon since dawn.

It confirmed that the death toll from Israeli attacks since March 2nd has risen to 3,783, with 11,699 wounded.

This escalation comes despite the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on April 17, 2016. Israel continues to carry out frequent airstrikes and military operations, resulting in casualties in several Lebanese regions.
