Saudi Arabia ordered on Monday the closure of all airports and ports under its control in southern and eastern Yemen. This comes amid anticipation of a Yemeni response to the bombing of Sana’a International Airport.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Saudi Special Committee issued urgent directives to its government in Aden, ordering the suspension of all flights to and from the airports of Aden, Seiyun, and Al-Rayyan.
The directives also included transferring all Yemenia Airways aircraft abroad.
The orders also included raising the state of alert at the ports.
Earlier today, Yemeni aircraft diverted their flights from Aden to Djibouti.
These developments come amid a new Saudi escalation that began with the targeting of Sana’a International Airport, amidst anticipation of a Yemeni response in light of the successive statements from the forces and the official side in Sana’a.
