Sana’a Foreign Ministry Affirms: No Legal Value for Any Usurper of Yemen’s Seat at the UN, and Tehran Announces Its Recognition of Sana’a Authorities

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Sana’a affirmed that there is no legal or legitimate value for any party usurping the seat of the Republic of Yemen in the United Nations, stressing that Yemen’s representation in the international organization is currently based on an “invalid legitimacy appointed in Riyadh hotels, lacking any legal or popular document.”

Sana’a – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The ministry renewed in a statement issued on Tuesday night holding “Saudi Arabia fully responsible for its tampering with Yemen, its aggression, and its continued siege for over a decade, and the catastrophic repercussions thereof on the Yemeni people.”

In a related context, the mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations announced its country’s official recognition of the Sana’a authorities as the sole legitimate representative of the Republic of Yemen.

The Iranian mission clarified in its statement that Tehran’s cooperation with the Sana’a authorities is fully in line with relevant Security Council resolutions, affirming that this cooperation primarily aims to support a political process led by the Yemenis themselves towards building a unified Yemen, while fully preserving the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national unity.

On a related note, the Iranian mission in New York refuted recent American allegations claiming that Tehran exploited the travel of the Yemeni delegation to participate in the funeral ceremonies of the former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to transport military equipment to Yemen, describing these claims as “completely unfounded.”

The mission affirmed that this American allegation represents “a fabricated and exposed accusation aimed at misleading the UN Security Council and diverting attention from the ongoing crimes and aggressions committed by the United States against the Yemeni people and the peoples of the region.”
