Neutralizing Israel from the Iran Battle… An American Strategy to Maintain the Rear Base or to Avoid the Gulf Scenario?

Once again, the US refuses the Israeli occupation’s involvement in the new round of the war on Iran, despite dragging its strongest Gulf allies into the quagmire. Is it trying to keep it as a secure rear base, or to avoid the current Gulf scenario, which threatens the disappearance of states from the map?

According to Hebrew media, the Trump administration rejected a proposal by the occupation government to engage in the current Iran war. This is the first time since the start of the war on Iran that Trump insists on keeping Israel out of the confrontation, even though it was the one that started the war and its Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, convinced the US President to launch the attack last February.

This shift in the American position towards its largest strategic ally in the Middle East raises many questions. Does the refusal reflect the escalating differences between Netanyahu and Trump, or is it an American attempt to secure Israel as a rear base? Most importantly, is the Trump administration seeking to exhaust the rest of the region’s countries for the entity’s benefit?

For the United States, there are no new cards left that it has not thrown into the battlefield in hopes of an early resolution. It has summoned its strongest air, naval, and even ground fleets, and even its Gulf allies are effectively participating in the war, albeit in various ways. However, what prevents it from including Israel?

One of the most realistic scenarios relates to logistical support. Iran has not left a single American base in the region without targeting it, from the Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain to the bases in Kuwait, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and even Jordan.

All those bases have already become theaters of Iranian operations, and all early warning devices and defense systems have been destroyed, allowing Iranian missiles and drones to reach them with ease. Even aircraft carriers are no longer safe, and there is no place where America can protect its air fleets of refueling aircraft or strategic bombers except Israel. The entity has hosted dozens of aircraft, from refueling tankers to bombers, in recent days.

Overall, America believes that neutralizing Israel from the confrontation equation currently imposed by Iran may keep its air fleets there safe, at least for a while. However, this equation could end at any moment, especially as Iranian missiles gradually approach their bases in the south of the entity.

Although the differences between Trump and Netanyahu have recently peaked, especially with Netanyahu’s objection to the arrival of refueling aircraft and his subsequent submission, in addition to Trump’s attempt to establish a perception that he controls the battle, unlike the first time when Hebrew and American media revealed that Netanyahu was the one managing the war, it is certain that America is merely trying to keep its air assets safe deep within the occupied Palestinian territories.
