Iran: Death toll from US attacks reaches 53

Iran’s Health Ministry announced on Wednesday that the death toll from US attacks on Iran since June 27 has risen to 53, with 592 injured.

Hossein Karmanpour, head of the Public Relations and Media Center at the Iranian Health Ministry, stated in a post on the US-based company X that the number of fatalities from the US airstrikes that began on June 27 has reached 53, while the number of injured has risen to 592.

He added that 36 of the injured are still receiving treatment in hospitals, while the rest have been discharged after receiving the necessary medical care.

For several days, the United States has been launching successive waves of strikes on targets inside Iran, while Tehran has responded with missile and drone attacks on military bases and facilities, as well as sites it claims are linked to Washington in countries in the region, including Bahrain.

This escalation comes despite the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran last June, which included a ceasefire and the commencement of negotiations to reach a broader agreement.
