Recording the longest and most arduous voyage for Saudi oil in the kingdom’s history

Saudi Arabia recorded the longest oil export voyage in the world on Monday.

International media highlighted Saudi Arabia’s commencement of the longest and most arduous voyage for its oil, as Yemen continues to impose a ban on Saudi navigation in the Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandeb.

The ship tracking website “Kpler” published data on the oil giant tanker “Olympic Lake.”

The data shows the ship “Lake” has crossed the Suez Canal carrying a Saudi oil shipment.

The ship decided to travel via the Cape of Good Hope route to reach its destination in East Asia, considered the longest voyage in history, taking weeks after having taken days.

Although the ship is one of several oil and cargo ships that Yemen forced to turn back and took the Suez route to escape the Yemeni ban on Saudi navigation, it is the first voyage of Saudi oil in history to traverse such long distances to reach the Asian market, after Saudi Arabia had controlled the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait and the Red Sea for decades.

Yemen has been imposing a ban on Saudi navigation for the second consecutive week, in response to the continued Saudi aggression and siege for years, and the Kingdom’s refusal to end the state of neither war nor peace despite the truce extending for years as well.
