AFP: Sana’a attack severely damaged the main radar at Najran airport

The French news agency AFP reported on Tuesday that the operation carried out by Sana’a forces on Najran Airport targeted the airport’s main radar, causing severe damage that affected operational processes.

The spokesman for Sana’a forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, had confirmed that the operation achieved a precise hit, indicating that it came in response to violations by Saudi drone aviation in the airspace of Sa’ada and Hajjah governorates.

Saree affirmed that the Armed Forces would continue to respond to any violation of Yemeni airspace, and that “any violation will not pass without response and punishment.”

The escalation between the two sides had returned to the forefront after Riyadh bombed Sana’a Airport in mid-July, and its refusal to meet Sana’a’s demands to lift the siege on Yemeni airports and ports. Sana’a responded by bombing Saudi airports and imposing a naval blockade on the Kingdom’s navigation, within the framework of the “siege-for-siege” and “escalation-for-escalation” equations.
