The sinking of the first ship in the Red Sea, and its records show frequent visits to Saudi ports

The Red Sea recorded the sinking of the first foreign cargo ship on Tuesday since Yemen’s decision to ban Saudi navigation came into effect.

Navigational sources confirmed the sinking of the Indian cargo ship “Faizi Noor Ali.” The ship had been attacked earlier today by an explosive-laden boat off Yemen’s western coast.

Media reports confirmed the rescue of 13 crew members and the disappearance of one.

No party has claimed responsibility for targeting the ship.

The operation comes amid escalating operations in the Red Sea as Yemen’s decision to ban Saudi navigation enters its third week.

Records of the targeted ship revealed its frequent visits to Saudi ports, particularly Jizan, before it recently turned off its tracking device.

“Faizi” is the first ship to sink in the Red Sea since operations began weeks ago, adding to a long list of British, Western, and American ships that were sunk or damaged during the operations in support of Gaza, which began in November 2023 and stopped months ago when America and Israel met Yemeni conditions to lift the siege and stop the aggression on Gaza.
