Yemen escalated the pace of its operations against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday as the “siege-for-siege” equation entered its third week.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Yemeni forces confirmed the bombing of Najran Airport for the first time since the Yemeni escalation began about two weeks ago.
The airport is the second Saudi international airport in the southern region to be targeted in recent operations, following the bombing of Abha Airport in response to a Saudi aggression on Sana’a Airport in the middle of last month.
Although the Yemeni forces justified targeting Najran Airport as a response to new Saudi violations in the border region, specifically Sa’ada and Hajjah, the timing of the operation indicates that it is part of the escalating path of Yemeni operations that began in the middle of last month with the Saudi navigation ban, followed by a wave of strikes on Saudi land targeting oil facilities and export ports in Jizan and Yanbu, in addition to the Eastern Region and Riyadh.
The new operation, carried out the day after the third week of the Yemeni escalation decision came into effect, confirms Yemen’s direction towards escalatory military options as Saudi maneuvering continues to implement peace entitlements in Yemen.
