Downing of a Saudi Reconnaissance Aircraft of the “Wing Loong 2” Type in Sa’ada

The spokesman for the Sana’a forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced on Tuesday that the Sana’a forces managed to down an armed reconnaissance aircraft of the “Wing Loong II” type belonging to the Saudi regime, while it was carrying out “hostile” missions in the airspace of Sa’ada Governorate.

Saree affirmed that it was targeted with an appropriate weapon.

This downing comes within a series of interception operations carried out by the Yemeni air defenses during the past weeks, which resulted in the downing of an F-15 warplane, reconnaissance aircraft of the “CH-4” and “Wing Loong 2” types, a Turkish-made “Bayraktar Akinci” aircraft, and other drones in the governorates of Sa’ada, Al-Jawf, Marib, Taiz, and Hajjah.
