“Docking workers don’t work for war.” Under this powerful humanitarian slogan, 113 ports around the world launched an international strike, rejecting arms shipments to Israel in solidarity with Gaza. Docking workers in 113 ports, across 22 countries and five continents, took action: “We don’t work for their wars!” From Marispoon to Genoa, from Piraeus to Hamburg, from Tangier to Istanbul, from India to Mexico and the United States, more than 25 unions, representing workers in 113 ports across 22 countries, participated in International Workers’ Day. In France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, and India, sit-ins, sit-ins, and 24-hour protests were declared in solidarity with Gaza and in rejection of arms shipments to Israel.
Their message was: “We don’t fuel death and destruction. We don’t work for their wars.” The movement began as an act of solidarity with the Palestinian people and the resistance in Gaza, and their protests and demonstrations were against arms shipments to Israel and against Israeli aggression in Gaza and Palestine.
