The UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces heavily opened on Thursday fire at a camp of the Saudi forces in Socotra Island, according to Yemen Press Agency.
The sources affirmed that the shelling on the camp by the STC came following the Saudi intention to deport the STC’s members who came to the archipelago from other provinces.
According to the sources, the Saudi forces accused the STC members who came from Dhalea province of posing a threat to the is troops on the island.
Activists considered the military escalation between Saudi Arabia and the UAE in Yemen comes as an extension of the escalating dispute in relations between two parties in recent times.
