Sana’a Calls Humanitarian Orgs. to Double Activities in Yemen

The Secretary-General of Sana’a-based Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamali, called on humanitarian organizations to double their activities and tasks to alleviate the suffering of citizens.

This came during his meeting in Sana’a with the Resident Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Nestor Owomuhangi, and the Resident Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Maya Ameratunga.

In the meeting, Al-Hamali indicated that the Yemeni people are going through the worst crisis in the world due to the war and the siege that has intensified these days as a result of preventing the entry of oil derivatives ships by Saudi-led coalition countries, which exacerbated the human suffering.

For their parts, the representatives of the UNFPA and UNHCR hailed the Council’s efforts, confirming their keenness to provide humanitarian services to alleviate the existing human suffering.
