Protests Calling for Operation of Aden Refineries

Dozens of Aden Refinery employees organized a protest sit-in on Monday, demanding the operation of the refineries.

Local sources stated that the protestors demanded the government loyal to Saudi-led coalition to operate the Aden refineries, provide oil to the provinces at a lower price, and work to break the monopoly by traders, amid the government’s reluctance to operate the refineries.

They accused Maeen Abdulmalik’s government of deliberately humiliating citizens, and of exacerbating the situation after a price dose of the oil derivatives imposed by the government during the past week, as the price of a 20-liter gallon reached more than 25,000 riyals.
