US Deal Releases Kidnapped Men by al-Qaeda

Sources at Saudi-backed government in Aden revealed details of a deal concluded with the United States with Al-Qaeda to release kidnapped foreigners in Yemen.

The sources indicated that the deal conducted by the American intelligence included the release of a number of al-Qaeda leaders, in the prisons of Interior ministry in a Maeen government, besides huge sums of money, in exchange for the release of the organization; two foreigners working for Doctors without Borders were kidnapped.

Earlier this week, US embassy summoned the Minister of Interior in Maeen government, Ibrahim Haidan for the second time in less than a month; this was followed by the announcement of Interior’s ministry on the success of the releasing kidnapped foreigners’ process, who were kidnapped in Hadhramaut while on their way to Marib.

It is noteworthy that Al-Qaeda had previously published a video clip of the security and safety official at the United Nations office in Aden, months after he was kidnapped, he revealed that negotiations with America and UAE failed to release him.
