UNRWA: “2023 is the bloodiest year for Palestinians

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said, “2023 is the bloodiest year ever for Palestinians in the West Bank, with 504 Palestinians martyred” as of Friday, December 29.

Juliette Touma, the UN agency’s director of media and communications, made this revelation in an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

Touma added, “The West Bank has been boiling for 18 months,” noting that the year 2023 is the bloodiest year ever for Palestinians killed in the occupied West Bank.

The UN official continued, saying, “504 Palestinians have been martyred so far this year in the West Bank, while at least 70 children have been killed since the start of the war” in the Gaza Strip.

This comes at a time when UNRWA pointed out that the Israeli occupation army caused the deaths of 308 Palestinians, in addition to the injuries of 1,095 others who were taking shelter in it.
