World Health Organization Director General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus condemned the Israeli attack that targeted the primary healthcare center of the Palestinian Medical Relief Society PMRS in Gaza City on Monday.
Ghebreyesus said in a post on his X platform account that the attack turned the center into rubble and injured two healthcare workers.
He added that this center was among the few still operating in Gaza City providing blood donation services medical examinations emergency care cancer medicines and treatment for chronic diseases.
The UN official warned that the continued destruction of health facilities in Gaza City will lead to more deaths and increase pressure on already overcrowded hospitals in the south.
He stressed that attacks on health facilities must stop and this senseless violence must stop calling for a ceasefire.
