Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Dr. Munir al-Barash, stated that only 15 percent of the total aid received in health and food assistance has reached the Gaza Strip. He noted that 22,000 patients in the Gaza Strip need to travel for treatment.
In a press statement, al-Barash explained that the ministry is trying to restore some hospitals in the Gaza Strip, while the occupation is manipulating and refusing to implement what was agreed upon.
He noted that approximately 18,100 citizens are awaiting travel for treatment, calling for the urgent opening of the crossings.
He added that the Ministry of Health has demanded the release of the largest possible number of medical personnel from Israeli prisons and has called on the international community to investigate the issue of the bodies of martyred prisoners. He noted that the ministry has received the bodies of 165 martyrs, and it appears that they were subjected to the most severe forms of punishment.
Al-Barash emphasized the Gaza Strip’s need for numerous x-ray machines, noting that the occupation has burned several laboratories in the Gaza Strip.
