On the eve of new meetings of the UN envoy… Oman reveals new Saudi offers to the Houthis

The Sultanate of Oman revealed, on Monday, the behind-the-scenes of a new movement on its soil regarding Yemen.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Omani expert Ali Al-Maashani said that what he described as the “bottom” is boiling with negotiations, bargaining, barter, and the swapping of important political roles in multiple geographical issues regionally and internationally.

Al-Maashani considered what appears on the surface to be only the little part.

Al-Maashani’s tweet came on the eve of a new and unprecedented movement regarding the Yemen file, amid fears of it exploding militarily.

The UN Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, who returned to the capital, Muscat, for the third time in less than a month, held intensive meetings, most notably with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi, as well as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

According to the foreign ministries of both countries, the meetings were dedicated to discussing developments in Yemen.

These moves come as tension in Yemen reaches its peak, with threats to transfer the file militarily rather than politically, alongside revelations of the failure of previous rounds to make political progress.

Although the details of the offers are not yet clear, the Omani expert’s talk indicates that they go beyond the previous ones, during which Saudi Arabia clung to southern Yemen and the forces loyal to it, in addition to marketing itself as a mediator rather than a party.
