The occupation uproots 777 trees in the West Bank within a week

The Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture documented the uprooting and destruction of 777 trees in various areas of the occupied West Bank as a result of Israeli attacks carried out over a single week, estimating the losses at more than $761,000.

In a report published on Saturday, the ministry stated that the period between February 5 and 11 witnessed a significant escalation in the pace of Israeli violations against the agricultural sector in the West Bank governorates.

It explained that these violations included land razing, demolition of agricultural infrastructure, and sabotage of water sources, in addition to widespread attacks targeting fruit trees. Settler attacks also targeted crops and agricultural property, and prevented farmers from accessing their lands.

The ministry indicated that its field teams documented the uprooting and destruction of 777 trees, the majority of which were olive trees, noting that the Hebron (south) and Nablus (north) governorates suffered the most damage.

According to the report, the total value of losses resulting from these attacks during the specified period exceeded $761,000.
