The Israeli blockade has forced the shutdown of a main generator at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis

The Ministry of Health announced the shutdown of one of the main generators at Nasser Medical Complex, one of the largest medical facilities in the Gaza Strip, due to a lack of fuel oil.

In a statement, the Ministry said that technical teams have begun relying on lower-capacity generators to supply vital departments with electricity during specific operating hours.

The Ministry emphasized that these alternative measures are not a solution to the problem but rather exacerbate the situation and the conditions for providing medical care to patients and the wounded.

It warned that further delays without urgent intervention from the relevant authorities bring us closer to a point where these alternative measures will prove ineffective as the fuel and spare parts shortage worsens.

The Israeli occupation forces’ prevention of fuel oil deliveries has caused numerous generators to malfunction and disrupted traffic in the Gaza Strip.
