Iran raises its military threats to America over Hormuz as prospects of a new meeting in Pakistan fade

Iran escalated the pace of its threats against American forces on Saturday, as the targeting of ships in Hormuz renewed, while hopes for a new direct round of talks diminished.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The Revolutionary Guard’s “Khatam Al-Anbiya” headquarters vowed a strong response if the American army continues its blockade and piracy in Hormuz, affirming its forces’ readiness and determination to continue managing and controlling the strait.

The strait witnessed reciprocal targeting of ships by American and Iranian forces in recent hours.

These developments come as attention turns to the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, where Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi continues his visit for the second consecutive day.

Since his arrival on Friday evening, Araghchi has met with the commander of the Pakistani army and the prime minister.

Pakistani reports indicated that Araghchi handed over his response to proposals presented by the Pakistani army commander during his recent visit to Tehran.

It was expected that Pakistan would announce a new meeting between Abbas Araghchi and the American delegation led by envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, but the meeting, which was anticipated to take place tomorrow, has not been announced yet.

Reports from Islamabad suggest new complications hindering the Iranian-American meeting, particularly given hints that the Iranian response amounted to a rejection of American stipulations.

US President Donald Trump is banking on the Islamabad negotiations. In his latest statements, he said he hopes Iranians will offer a satisfactory deal for his country.

Although the details of what transpired behind closed doors remain unclear, Araghchi’s readiness for a new shuttle tour, including Oman and Russia, indicates the entry of regional and international players into the negotiation path.
