The Deputy Spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Farhan Haq, confirmed that about 40,000 Palestinians have been forced into displacement in the West Bank since the beginning of 2025 until today, as a result of the continuous escalation by the Israeli occupation forces and settlers. Today, Saturday, the Palestinian news agency “Wafa” quoted Haq as saying in press statements at the United Nations headquarters: that the demolition of homes and attacks in the West Bank during the first week of this month led to the displacement of 42 Palestinians, including 24 children. He explained that the Israeli forces and settlers are continuing, under the protection of the Israeli army, to carry out storming and attacks in various areas of the West Bank, which leads to an escalation of the suffering of Palestinian civilians and the damage of their property. The UN spokesperson indicated that these developments come in the context of the persistence of tensions in the West Bank, where the incursions, arrests and attacks against the Palestinians and their property are increasing. Separate areas of the West Bank are witnessing continuous field escalation, in light of the continuing tensions associated with repeated attacks by the occupation forces and settlers.
