Sudden Evacuation of Major Military Bases in Southern and Eastern Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia carried out evacuation operations on Wednesday for its largest bases in the south and east of the Kingdom. This comes amid the return of confrontations with Yemen.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Saudi platforms and media reports stated that Saudi forces moved military aircraft from the most important bases.

The most prominent bases that were evacuated include King Khalid Base in Khamis Mushait, in addition to King Abdulaziz Base in Dhahran.

King Khalid Base is located on the Yemeni border, specifically in Asir, and has been used since the start of the Saudi war as a joint operations base to manage the war on Yemen, while King Abdulaziz Base is located on the Iraqi border.

Both bases have been targets of attacks during the years of the war on Yemen, whether from Yemen or from Iraq.

The reason for the sudden Saudi move is unknown, but its timing indicates that it is related to the confrontation with Yemen, especially after the Yemeni forces launched missile strikes targeting major Saudi airports in the south, causing the closure of five of them.

Saudi Arabia fears receiving further Yemeni strikes, especially after its recent aggression on Sana’a.
