Saudi Arabia closed one of its largest oil export ports on the Red Sea on Saturday. This follows Yemeni operations, one of which directly targeted it.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Satellite images showed an oil tanker flying the Hong Kong flag turning around while it was on its way to Yanbu port, used for Saudi oil exports on the Red Sea.
The ship turned back towards the Suez Canal, moving away from the port by dozens of miles.
These developments come following Yemen’s launch of a series of operations against vital Saudi facilities in Jizan and Yanbu on the Red Sea.
It is unclear whether the ship received Yemeni warnings or if its flight was due to crew panic, but the timing and its return after approaching the port indicate that it received signals of its closure.
The closure of the important port indicates significant damage may have been inflicted on it.
