The Financial Times revealed that facilities belonging to the Saudi oil company Aramco in the city of Jizan were targeted on Monday, about a month after an attack that caused a temporary halt to part of the refinery’s production.

The newspaper quoted, in a report, two informed sources as saying that “Aramco’s oil infrastructure has been attacked, and damage is being assessed.”
One of the sources said the latest attack was similar in scale to last month’s attack.
The report indicated that “Saudi Aramco did not immediately respond to a request for comment.”
The report noted that oil prices rose after Aramco was targeted, with Brent crude increasing by 1.2% to $97.40 per barrel.
The report noted that Sana’a has not claimed responsibility for the attack on Saudi Arabia so far, pointing out that the conflict with Saudi Arabia has been ignited since Sana’a imposed a blockade on the Kingdom’s ports on the Red Sea in July, and launched several drone and missile attacks targeting its oil infrastructure in the weeks that followed.

The report stated: “Jizan is the Kingdom’s closest industrial city to the Yemeni border and has been attacked by Sana’a forces on many previous occasions.”
Jizan hosts an oil refinery with a production capacity of 400,000 barrels per day, among the largest in the country, along with associated factories and energy infrastructure.
Satellite images published by NASA had shown multiple fire hotspots at the refinery belonging to the Saudi oil company Aramco.
The targeting of the Aramco facility in Jizan coincides with information about Saudi Arabia carrying out raids against Sana’a forces’ positions in Al-Jawf and Al-Bayda, while no official claim of responsibility for the operation has been issued by Sana’a at the time of writing.
