Sana’a Military Committee Shows to UN Official the Coalition’s Violations

Vice-Chairman of the National Military Committee in Sana’a, Brigadier General Hussein Hashim met on Thursday with members of the Committee in Sana’a, the UN Envoy’s military adviser Brigadier General Antony Hayward, and the Director of the Office of the United Nations Representative to Yemen.

The meeting discussed steps to equip the Joint Operations Room to reduce violations.

At the meeting, the Vice-Chairman of the National Committee reviewed the continuing violations of the armistice by coalition-backed forces on various fronts and the sound and image models of some of those violations.

He referred to the continued intransigence of the coalition and its loyal forces and disassociated them from implementing the armistice clauses, failing to abide by what had been agreed upon with regard to lifting the total blockade of Sana’a International Airport and the port of Hodeida in front of oil derivatives and food vessels, which reflected their disregard for the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Brigadier General Hashim stressed that the National Military Committee regretted the other party’s failure to adhere to the armistice clauses. The suffering of citizens and civilian victims who fall daily as a result of mines and cluster bombs, especially in Hodeida province.

He said that the coalition States’ intransigence and persistence in preventing the entry of mine-clearance equipment exacerbated the suffering of citizens, which required a clear position from the United Nations to put pressure on the countries of Saudi-led coalition by facilitating the entry of mine-status equipment.

For his part, the UN Envoy’s military adviser stated that the United Nations calls on all parties to make the armistice a single package in accordance with the terms of the armistice and in order to ensure the alleviation of human suffering and the return of life to normal.

He thanked and appreciated the Military Commission’s clarification of the breaches occurring from the other side by voice and image and the fact that the Joint Operations Room was an important step to reduce those violations.
